La Educación: Más allá de un objetivo

Resumen

La educación es parte integral de los 17 Objetivos de Desarrollo Sostenible adoptados por todos los estados miembros de las Naciones Unidas en el 2015, como parte de la Agenda 2030. Pero la educación es además una herramienta poderosa y fundamental para materializar aquella Agenda y todos sus ambiciosos objetivos. Este artículo es un comentario sobre la relevancia de la educación en el desarrollo sostenible y para enfrentar aquellos grandes retos socio-ambientales con los que se enfrenta la humanidad. El artículo describe tres característi-cas, como pilares fundamentales, para que la educación (formal, no formal, e informal) maximice su impacto y contribuya a transformar nuestra insostenible realidad; siendo estas: a) el poseer una visión holística y sistémica, b) el estar enfocada a la acción, c) el ser moderna e innovadora.
