Abstract

Critical thinking is a key factor in education andcitizen’s formation to become: critical, reflective,proactive, good at making decisions and transformingsociety. Concerning to new educational trends,this topic has gained force; however, it has notbeen developed efficiently even though it is partof the epistemological support of the EcuadorianEducational Reform. Theorists and programs haveoffered guidelines and tools for its application;however, any real research has been carried out.Being able to prepare responsible, capableand discerning citizens in a digital society, with anexponential technological advance, is a new challengefor teachers and that is where critical thinking takeson a relevant role.Cedfi has already incorporated critical thinking intoits educational system as a fundamental axis in itspractice, looking forward a change in education.
