Abstract

We live in a society that needs to rethink male and female roles, a society that needs to break stereotypes that have been imposed over millions of years and that have limited the freedom of all human beings, but mainly women’s freedom. The society of the twenty-first century needs people who can be themselves, people live their own choices, ideologies, and beliefs without having society impose those upon them. Unfortunately, this reality moves into educational facilities in which authorities, teachers, and students live inundated with different stereotypes, but most of all, gender stereotypes. It is imperative to start at home, and have schools help to generate changes and build together a more fair and balanced society in endless circumstances. Many times it is necessary to re-educate family members to avoid family violence, femicides, and sexual abuse, among other types of violence.
