Abstract

The reality of reading in our country is not encouraging, it is known that Ecuadorians read 0.5 books per year, (Diario El Telégrafo, 2012) that is why we seek to promote or encourage reading; initiatives, projects, ideas for the enjoyment of reading are developed. It seems that children have been made to believe that they do not like reading, that it is boring and that they do it out of obligation, of course, this is so, if the process of reading is simply done mechanically without any sense or objective. A society becomes a book lover from childhood and/or adolescence with the help of parents and teachers. The pleasure that reading offers in giving diverse meanings, entering into other worlds so close, so dissimilar, converts it into a process of apprehension and understanding of reality that provides an endless number of creative possibilities, of joy, learning, reflection; and, any other meaning or sensation that is so personal for the reader. "Reading involves gathering, concentrating, reflecting and interpreting. It is an intimate and creative act" (Coronas Cabrero, 2005).
