Towards a true pedagogy of reading
Abstract
This article is not intended to list ten or more reasons to justify the importance of reading; on the contrary, it seeks to discuss the true essence of this function and the role that traditional education gives it as opposed to the demands of modern education. In principle, we should reflect on what is the real importance attributed to reading; is it transcendent for human beings? Both questions are obvious to a teacher, who would adduce innumerable arguments to justify the resounding yes of his or her answer.
