Abstract

The purpose of the following article is to think about the potential of teaching narratives as a reflective exercise linked to pre professional practices. To this end, we recovered the stories of teachers who carry out their professional practice in the Ecuadorian Amazon and who participate in the professionalization program of the National University of Education. The sample was selected using the snowball technique. The results obtained in the research reveal that the stories allowed teachers to become aware of the relationship between different life experiences and their professional work. They also suggest the relevance of considering them as a source of information and reflection practice for future teachers, as they allow them to discover the different social, economic and cultural contexts in which their professional work will take place.
