Facing environmental problems such as uncleanliness and neglect of green spaces, Environmental Education arose as a solution. This field intends to determine the effectiveness of educational recreational activities on environmental behaviors, which were imparted to two 5th grade classes, maintaining traditional methods in the third 5th grade class. A comparison was made using: surveys, monitoring of recycling points, quantification of vegetable species given over to care, and teacher interviews. The results were favorable, concluding that recreational environmental education has a positive influence. Its application is recommended as an innovative teaching-learning strategy.
