Abstract

This article aims to share the observations that were made during our work in environmental education in a Latin American country such as Chile, from a small social and environmental organization that, like many others, has little or no financing, but a huge conviction. We will refer to the most important public policies with which any Chilean socio-environmental organization must face, and to the space that the educational plan grants to environmental education. We will outline a critical posture of environmental education. A concept that appears very diffuse, servile, crossed by slogans with scientific basis, but servile to the market economy. On the other hand, We will discuss possible alternatives.
